Scholarship Overview
The prestigious Nottingham Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship program supports passionate and innovative students from Africa, South Asia, and select Commonwealth countries. This scholarship aims to empower students to create positive change in their home countries by offering 50% or 100% tuition fee waivers for eligible Master’s programs (including MRes).

Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Kiribati, Malaysia, Maldives, Montserrat, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, St Helena, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tristan da Cunha, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
Applications from students who have studied abroad in eligible Developing Solutions countries will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Eligible Programs
Full-time Master’s programs (including MRes) within the following faculties at the University of Nottingham UK campus:
- Faculty of Engineering
- Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
- Faculty of Science
- Faculty of Social Sciences
Scholarship Value:
- 50% or 100% tuition fee waiver
Eligibility Requirements
- Be domiciled in an eligible country.
- Be classified as an overseas student for fee purposes.
- Hold an offer for an eligible full-time Master’s program at the University of Nottingham (UK Campus) for the 2025/26 academic year.
You are NOT eligible if you
- Are a current student or graduate of the University of Nottingham.
- Have studied and received a degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) outside your home country (exceptions may apply – see above).
- Are currently studying in the UK.
Application Process
- Secure an Offer: First, apply for and receive an offer for an eligible Master’s program: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk.
- Apply for the Scholarship: After receiving your offer, apply for the scholarship through NottinghamHub.

Application Criteria: The primary assessment criteria is your demonstrated vision and plan for developing a solution that addresses a key economic, environmental, structural, social, or political challenge in your home country. Clearly link your solution to the learning outcomes of your chosen course. Traditional scholarship criteria, such as reasons for studying at Nottingham and achievements, will also be considered. Adhere to word count limits in your application.
Scholarship Requirements and Conditions:
- You do not need to accept your program offer before applying for the scholarship.
- Scholarships are awarded for one year only (even for two-year programs).
- The scholarship will be deducted from your tuition fees; it will not be paid directly to you.
- This scholarship cannot be combined with other University of Nottingham scholarships.
